  • Condition: Nice playing Henry Gautier B/B flat/A silver cornet. Silver finish highly polished and nearly intact throughout. Valves casings show normal wear for it's age. New springs and custom cut valve guides to remove side-to-side motion and correct alignment. Low pitch. All dents removed . Still has some surface scratches and dings remaining. Chemically cleaned, lubricated, new or good corks and felts.

    Description

    This a really nice early model multi-Key cornet.  A very fun horn for band, ensemble and solo work.  It is typical of cornets manufactured  in the late 1800's and very early 1900's.
    The horn was restored to good playing condition, cleaned, and polished.  Valves are aligned and has good or new felts and corks.  I replaced the valve guides with new, custom fit ones to eliminate side-to side motion, clicking and correct valve alignment.  Springs are also replaced. All major dents are removed with some light scratches and dings remaining.
    Note
    that this horn plays better with a smaller shank mouthpiece (not included) such as a vintage V-cup or warburton BC-series shank with cup of your choice.  Tone varies widely with mouthpiece cup design.  Can be bright or sweet sounding depending on the mouthpiece.  I prefer  the deeper V- or Bowl-shaped cups for  best results.
    The horn does not come with a case or mouthpiece.
