History:
Conical sugar sifters were first introduced to England by Clarice Cliff in 1930 with the idea of cheering the population away from the general gloom following the American Great Depression stock market crash of 1929.Their revolutionary new-age shape and vivid painting were not understood at all by the public and they initially turned out to be very poor sellers.
The initial unpopularity of these revolutionary sugar sifters slowly reversed itself and by WW2 had become one of their most sought after and highly desirable products.
