travel posters p
ublished by the Travel Association of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
During the mid-1930s to early 1950s, the travel association produced a variety of large photograph posters showing scenery, historical places, or interesting street scenes. They were printed in either black and white, blue tint, green tint, or sepia.
The dark horizontal areas are shadows because the posters were not perfectly flat and pics were taken in natural light.
They look great when framed.
These posters were acquired about 1950 by a relative. They were rolled up and stored away in a closet for 70 years, rarely handled or exposed to light. As you can see they are in good condition with some fraying or small tears at the edges and yellowing from age.
NOTE: The 14th Century Guide Hall poster has a dime-size hole that has been closed with tape on the back. Also, the Pantiles poster has some yellowish dots, possibly water stains, in the areas around the image but nothing in the image itself.
