Mosser Glass Butter Dish Oval Eggplant Purple Hobnail Plum Gigi Fenton Mould
Now this is awesome piece — Hobnail butter dish — oval in shape— in Mosser’s purple Eggplant color.  Eggplant is an opaque purple with almost slag-like overtones.  It’s not a slag, technically, because the color variations arise from differences in glass temperature, rarther than different colors — but the effect is beautiful and interesting.  The purple is deep and rich.   Best of all, it’s handmade, right here in the USA.
Mosser Glass bought many of Fenton’s hobnail moulds and is now producing them in Mosser’s unique colors.  The quality is every bit as high as Fenton’s — if you like Fenton, you’ll like this too!  The glass is clearly marked with the Mosser “M” on the bottom.
The butter dish measures about 7.5 inches long.
The butter dish is in new, factory condition. No chips or cracks.
