Slingerland 16 x 18 Floor Tom EXC Vintage 1971 Niles Black Diamond Pearl

This is a Slingerland 3-ply Black Diamond Pearl floor tom from the Niles, Illinois factory circa 1971. Serial # is 79404. Dimensions are 18" head diameter, 16" depth.
Wear is associated with a 50 year-old drum- some scratches on wrap, some minor chrome pitting on rims, nothing major or indicating abuse in any way. This drum was well cared for. Wrap is original, bright and beautiful, seams are tight. Interior is clear lacquer. All lugs and mounts are intact and fully functional, and all tension rods are in place. Drum is solid- no cracks, but there is some wood filler on the bottom bearing edge. Hardware is either original or period correct, except for 4 non- Slingerland legs.
Drum sounds great- bright and clear with nice ring. Slingerland drums from this period are of exceptional quality with top notch construction, all done in the Niles Illinois factory. It has stood the test of time! Drum and hardware is shined and ready to play. Heads are in good shape.
